Seeking for some Inspiration

Amid storms, seek inspiration from the things you have overcome. Remember, the race of life is with yourself, not with others.

Hello! How are you? Although I cannot hear or read your response, I hope you know it was an honest question. I sincerely hope you have an excellent day. This message is born in response to the events and circumstances I am overcoming, which have drained my strength for days. After reflecting on and facing them today, I realized they inspired me to write this message. It also serves as motivation and inspiration for you.

After reviewing my latest entry, I realize this year has been very different from what I had planned. Undoubtedly, it has been a year of changes. If I had to describe what I have experienced this year, I have been on a roller coaster of challenges and emotions. After some rather difficult years, I am grateful for what I am overcoming now.

Like all outstanding achievements, this message was born in complex, difficult circumstances filled with emotional complexities. In such a scenario, we have only two options: to lie on the ground, curl up in a fetal position, and cry like children, or to lift our heads, seek inspiration wherever we can, and move forward. This message is my way of clinging to the second option.

Although many of the obstacles I am facing are personal and emotional, much of the inspiration I seek is linked to my professional achievements. Many of the qualities I value today, such as discipline, honesty, and perseverance, have been the pillars that have helped me achieve what I consider professional accomplishments.

Reflecting on the beginning of my professional life and especially the time in which I have achieved some significant accomplishments, I see that the most relevant ones have been obtained in a very short time. Although I have been involved in the software industry for over 15 years, it was not until mid-2019 that I began the transformation process that granted me some freedom.

Today, I face a new change, one of those that changes our lives. Every great challenge always brings fears and insecurities that require conviction, discipline, and willpower to overcome. I am grateful that new skills have arrived in this space, including the ability to read, which has brought wisdom (books) for difficult times.

You may wonder, what led me to this? The place, date, and moment resonate clearly in my mind, and I can only be grateful for knowing that I have lived one of those transcendent experiences that confront and change our lives. This experience has led me to a crossroads that forces me to step out of the ordinary and face the extraordinary because every extraordinary result requires actions of the same level.

So, why do I seek inspiration? Life is a sinusoidal wave. There will be moments when we have a lot of energy, and there will be others when we have to cling to everything that reminds us why we fight. We all have limited resources of time and energy.

Therefore, I conclude by leaving a list of points to which I wish to return, meditate on, and remember whenever anxiety wins over me when I feel I cannot achieve something, and when I doubt myself:

  • It took me eight years to leave my comfort zone, leaving a "stable job" to take on a high-risk position for which I had to transform myself. Although I only lasted a year in that job, it helped me discover a version of myself that, to this day, I am proud to see in the mirror.
  • A significant loss brings emotional challenges that require EXTRAORDINARY communication to overcome. Talk to your loved ones and learn to communicate frankly and honestly, being empathetic and impeccable with your words. Not doing so will bring division and lead to inevitable separation. Seeking professional help assists in finding answers hidden in the circumstances.
  • The least expected relationships can bring great opportunities. Cultivate good relationships and expand your network. You always need to find out who might be the person to help you out in the most challenging times. Thank you, Jonathan, for that job when I had no income during the pandemic.
  • It took me almost three years to go from being a curious webmaster to a senior engineer who worked for Audi alongside extraordinary professionals. Accept every significant change entails challenges and work on your personal development daily.
  • If you didn't achieve it the first time, you have a lifetime of opportunities to try again. Before becoming a YLAI, I was rejected five times for five projects. I am grateful that my past self did not give up and allowed me to share one of my life's most enriching entrepreneurial growth experiences.

Finally, what led me to this message... CONDOMERA. This project has been with me for seven years, from its conception as an idea to now as I write this message. Since 2017, I have worked on two versions of the system and have invested countless hours of effort, money (a lot of money!), and time into versions that have never seen the light of day. Numerous times, I have thrown in the towel and decided to abandon it... until that February.

Now, I stop to see the other side of the coin. For every possible failure along the way, CONDOMERA has been the architect of many of the successes I mentioned earlier. Without noticing, CONDOMERA has been the mastermind behind each of the goals I listed above. If it weren't for these failed versions, I would never have established myself as a developer. Without those failures, I would never have professionally known Laravel, Vue.js, Laravel Nova, and PHP, tools that made projects like TuSuplidor.do, DISESA.do, CONTABLE.do, MyNextTrip.app possible. Thanks to all these processes and projects, I have become the professional I am today.

With these experiences and anecdotes, I face the impostor syndrome again, which makes us see ourselves in the mirror as smaller and less experienced than we are. Yes, I am at a crossroads, but it is not the first time this has happened, and my journey shows me that no matter how difficult the times have been, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Now, finding myself again in a negative cycle of the wave, I take this message to remind myself that I must embrace this part of the journey just as I embrace the good moments and remember that everything will be fine. Just remember not to give up, don't get distracted, do what you have to do, and leave those things beyond your control in God's hands.

This time, I will finish CONDOMERA, and if it is God's will, I hope to see the result of seven years of effort, perseverance, and tears become one of the region's most successful condominium and residential management platforms.

Finally, please reflect on everything you have done well during your journey and see that you have more to be grateful for than regret right now. Please take a minute to call those people who have supported you along the way and have been there in bad times. Now that you are in good times let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life.

So, do not be discouraged; remember, no matter how loud the storm sounds, it will pass.

Facta, non verba.
